Republican Candidates Jeff Hansen and Jerry Maher soundly defeated their opponents in the West Deptford Township Committee election. Despite the best efforts of the opposition to mis-lead the voters of West Deptford Jeff and Jerry prevailed. Congratulations to our new Committeemen !!!
Dedicated to publishing the dire financial situation of West Deptford

Steve Sweeney has decided to settle and dismiss his frivolous lawsuit against West Deptford, his home town. Costing the township taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees according to Mayor Chintall and costing State Taxpayers $300,000 for his lawsuit lawyers. Sweeney stuck his own neighbors and constituents with the bill and claimed a victory. WD Republicans settled a costly 20+ year lawsuit with Sunoco ( A longtime neighbor and fellow Taxpayer in WD), were able to negotiate a pair of much needed fire trucks for the residents of WD and Sweeney claimes his lawsuit against that was a victory ?!?!? Welcome to Steve Sweeneys Bizarro World !!!
On a side note, the Mayors comments in the online report were left out of the printed version of the story.
Seems Rob Andrews can’t shake the continuing investigations into his campaign spending antics. On a recent 60 Minutes broadcast Andrews and many of his cohorts were called out for their unethical spending practices. Good to know that Rob Andrews has consistently supported certain candidates and elected officials here in WD. HMMMMM, birds of a feather flock together????? Maybe…

At the last Zoning board meeting, Jim Robinson violated his own running mate Sen. Sweeney’s proposed legislation (S1451) to prohibit the use of text messaging during public meetings. Robinson presided as the Chair since Mike McManamy had to step down due to a conflict.
In addition, Robinson violated Roberts Rules of Order when he denied Zoning Board Member Jerry Maher motion to table before any member of the board could even second the motion.(From Roberts Rules:A table motion as a subsidiary motion is precedent over a main motion, a table needs a second and a majority w/o discussion. Tabling is used to postpone discussion until the group decides by majority vote to resume discussion. By adopting the motion to “lay on the table,” a majority has the power to halt consideration of the question immediately without debate. Requires a second, non-debatable, not amendable.)Robinson himself was the member who motioned and approved using Roberts Rules of Order as the rules governing the Zoning Board at the Jan.8 2013 meeting. (http://www.westdeptford.com/AutoAgenda/January_8_2013_Minutes.pdf)
He also violated NJ Statute (N.J.S.A 40:55D-73), by not allowing the Zoning Board to take the 120 days they are give by this statute to review all the material that was submitted before rendering a decision. (http://www.goleader.com/wf-masterplan/land_use_law.pdf) Clearly the motion to table was in order and a prudent course of action with regards to such a major decision.(Reported by the patch-
Jim Robinson feels the rules do not apply to him and he apparently
doesn’t know how to follow New Jersey Statue or Roberts Rules of Order. Can West Deptford afford to have an elected official like Robinson on the Township Committee ???
In an abrupt move, George Norcross fires the Inquirer Editor right after his cronie, Steve Sweeney, was exposed in the paper. Coincidence??? You decide… but the article here seems to suggest that the bully tactics exposed by the paper have now landed squarely in its lap.
As we reported here earlier, The Phildelphia Inquirer and Philly.com have confirmed that Democrat State Senate President Steven M Sweeney used YOUR tax dollars to sue YOU for political gains !!! The article paints Senator Sweeney in a very bad light and even folks from envrionmential groups like the Sierra Club criticize his actions as being only purely political. It’s a great article, please take the time to read it….
In an effort to provide you the WD voter a clear path this November, Republican candidates Jeff Hansen and Jerry Maher had requested the Democratic candidates engage them in at least two political debates to define the election platforms this year. Unfortunately the Democratic candidates did not even bother to respond to the request for a debate. As you may not know, this occurred last year between Jeff Hansen and his opponent too. We at WD Truth find it perplexing that a political party would not take an opportunity to discuss its platform, which is unless it doesn’t have a platform….
Yes folks you read that right, WD resident and State Senate President Steve Sweeny sued the Township of West Deptford over the 20 year old Sunoco tax appeal settlement AND yes folks he used YOUR tax dollars to do it. !!! Senate Candidate Niki Trunk mentioned this info in her new TV ad and we at WD truth are providing you the actual documents here that show his lawsuit and his request for the $300,000 dollars to do it with. YES, you read that right again, almost $300,000 of YOUR tax dollars were used to sue YOU !!!! Now aren’t you glad you have a man like Sweeney representing you, no? Then we guess it is time to send him a message this November.

In case you missed the budget vote and subsequent wrangling to achieve it at the last Township Meeting, we have obtained the statement given by Deputy Mayor Sean Kilpatrick at that meeting. We would like to applaud the efforts of all the Committee members who supported this budget and finally did the right thing for the WD Taxpayer.
